Giardino dell’Orticoltura, also known as the Horticultural Garden, is a public park in Florence that previously served as a research and cultivation facility. This beautiful garden displays a stunning variety of plant species, including ornamental flowers, aromatic herbs, and exotic trees. Additionally, the park features an exquisite greenhouse, fountains, artistic sculptures and a panoramic garden. Now, locals visit the garden to bask in the sun, have picnics and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It truly is a magical place.

Why Orti Dipinti is the first community garden of Florence
The Orti Dipinti is an unexpected sight in the UNESCO heart of the Florentine capital. It is the first community garden of Florence, created in 2013 after converting the old sports track of Borgo Pinti into a true botanical lounge for the city. Architect and photographer Giacomo Salizzoni transformed the abandoned place into an oasis just a few steps from the city centre, where plants are cultivated, and workshops are held daily. The urban project aims to reconnect citizens with plants through various activities ranging from actual gardening on a voluntary basis to talks en plein air, brunches, barbecues, and fashion events accompanied by relaxing DJ sets.
On sunny days, you can sit here to study or enjoy a drink surrounded by plants with healing virtues and rare specimens.
