Arts Curating

Join the Arts Curating undergraduate programme at Istituto Marangoni Firenze to pursue a successful career in the art world. The course emphasises cultural and artistic heritage while incorporating digital experimentation and creativity for a modernised art experience.

The contemporary world imposes a new way of thinking about art, about cultural heritage and more generally, the system of creativity. Boosting cultural crossovers and overlaps, for hybridised and mixed subject fields such as visual arts, fashion, design, photography, film, performance, and new media, is the way the three-year Arts Curating course redefines the experience of art.

Talking about “art” or the “arts” is not just a linguistic choice, it is an authentic stance: recognising an extremely vast range of languages and disciplines that now characterise contemporary cultural production. In a society where transformation is so continuous and rapid, even the concept of art needs to be reformulated in order to achieve a more extensive, flexible definition, able to encompass the ever new stimuli and proposals.

This is the foundation of the three-year course in Arts Curating which uses a dynamic, innovative approach, made of constant forays and interdisciplinary dialogues, proposing a perfect mix of solid training in theory and a professional outlook that will meet the challenges of two systems: culture and creativity, together with their constant changes.

The aim of the course is to train professionals who are able to convey culture and promote the historic and artistic heritage, reinventing the art experience through the concepts of contamination, eclecticism and digital experimentation. In this perspective, curating and writing become two tools to construct display and exhibition projects, publishing contributions and media content, where historical knowledge, critical thought, and technological innovation come together with their gaze focused on the art of the future.
