Well, there’s nothing to feel bad about because TikTok is not just a platform you open when you’re bored or don’t know what to do; it is also the core of emerging beauty and fashion trends. Let’s be honest: who doesn’t want to keep up with the latest trends when it comes to looking good? 

TikTok can launch new macro and micro beauty and fashion trends almost weekly. So, in this article, I will introduce you to the top 5 TikTok make-up trends videos that are meant to stay for the whole autumn season for 2023. And the best part is, you can actually try them yourself. Just practice ☺

TikTok beauty trend N.1 – The Revenge Make-Up

We all agree on one thing: there are no precise rules to get us through the end of a relationship. Everyone gets to heal in their own way. However, according to TikTok, there is one make-up look to get over a relationship and mark its very end, and it’s called the “Revenge Make-up”. This trend has its origins in the way Diana showed up to the Vanity Fair Party the night of June 29, 1994, after Prince Charles had publicly admitted all his betrayals for the first time. She caught everyone’s attention by wearing a stunning black silk cocktail dress that emphasised her beauty. This dress has been called “The Revenge Dress”, and inspired by this event, TikTok users created a real viral trend on the platform, whereby make-up is not only a therapeutic tool to take back your life but, above all, an ally to regain self-confidence and celebrate empowerment.

But how do you do a Revenge Make-Up?

The look must be intense, black and dramatic, using eyeliner, shimmer eye shadows and false eyelashes, while the lips, always a powerful tool of seduction, are emphasised by lipsticks in various shades of red.

TikTok beauty trend N.2 – The Washed Denim Make-Up

This autumn 2023, blue will be dominating the scene. The newfound interest in blue eyeshadow, combined with the revival of the 2000s, has given rise to one of the most popular Y2K trends of the moment, copied and recreated by our favourite beauty gurus, make-up artists and celebs. We are talking about the Washed Denim Make-up, inspired by the texture and colour of denim fabric.

How does Washed Denim Make-up differ from other trends? 

The most popular colour of the moment tries to get as close as possible to the shade of denim. The colour is not truly blue, and neither is it indigo. The classic denim washing we want to get in our make-up is a mix of blue and grey, desaturated, dusty and beautifully old-school. A faded blue that is wearable and matches your favourite pair of blue jeans.

TikTok beauty trend N.3 – The Strawberry Make-Up

The American model and influencer Hailey Bieber launched the trend by posting pictures of herself with a simple and natural sun-kissed day look on her social media. Her cheeks and nose bridge are subtly tinted a creamy strawberry pink, which gives her the appearance of a girl who has just spent some leisure time outdoors. Freckles are in plain sight, while the eyes and lips are underlined with subtle, almost invisible make-up.

You just need a strawberry pink blush, a warm-toned bronzer, a highlighter and a light BB cream for the base. For the eyes, a quick touch of mascara (nothing too heavy), a light brown eyeliner if you like it, and a nice touch of pink nude lip gloss for the lips. 

TikTok beauty trend N.4 – The Pumpkin Spice Make-Up

It is characterised by a burst of warm colours ranging from yellow to copper and intense orange, making it a perfect beauty look for autumn 2023. The return of make-up trends inspired by the 80s and 90s with saturated eye shadows and colourful smokey eyes also contributed to its success. It reminds us of summer sunsets and the tan we no longer have.

Like any self-respecting make-up, it can be done in various ways, from simple ones to more elaborate evening styles. The only requirement is to use orange tints for the eyes, cheeks and lips.

TikTok beauty trend N.5 – The Cold Make-Up

Last but no least, the fifth one out of my TikTok make-up trends list is about winter chilling effect. We have already seen it in recent months, and it will continue to please us in this cold season. For those unfamiliar with it, this make-up look celebrates the glowy effect and the typical redness on the face that arises when we spend a day outdoors in the winter months.

Is the Cold Make-Up easy to do? The answer is YES!

It has a simple and natural finish and does not require much experience. You will only need to hydrate your skin well, use a lot of blush, a glittery eyeshadow and a generous dose of mascara.
