No need to look for alternatives: the Latte makeup trend, which has garnered tens of millions of views, has been declared by beauty tiktokers as the most glamorous of this Summer. And it’s great news because it suits everyone; it’s easy to do and gives the face that sun-filled glow we all aspire to at this time of year – but also in Autumn and Winter.

Soft latte shades for a glowy look

The name is inspired by the drink of the same name, a soft latte colour, which has reached Europe after making a splash in the US. It has adopted the warm, velvety, amber-coloured shades used to create shadows to sculpt the cheekbones. To be in the trend, after all, all you need is a few products you probably already have in your toiletry bag: a light foundation or BB cream, some bronzer, a blush in brown tones, perhaps with mother-of-pearl pigments for a glowy finish. What else? Maybe a touch of metallic shades for the eyelids in the mentioned tones or golden speckles for the inner corner will do the drink. And make sure to have some good brushes for perfectly balanced contouring. As for the lips, keep them natural, or add a touch of transparent gloss to follow this trend.

The Latte makeup craze among celebrities

Many celebrities are raving about the Latte makeup trend, including Rihanna, who lines up a beautiful collection of bronzers and sticks in shades of coffee in her Fenty makeup collection. The popstar has played the glamour card to the hilt by including a lipstick called Hot Chocolate, which has gained popularity on social media under the hashtag #hotchocolatemakeup since its release a few months ago.
Not a fan of Latte makeup? Don’t worry: you can always turn to milk, the real one, white and translucent, but this time for your manicure. Milky nails for a #lattemakeup are another beauty tornado with red carpet honours in Hollywood and Cannes. Some credit the model and actress Nicola Peltz for popularising this elegant manicure, which she wore the day she married Brooklyn Beckham, David and Victoria Beckham’s son. There are several options available for long or short nails.

Tom Bachik, nail artist of Peltz who also designs milk-coloured nails for Serena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, recommends mixing a glossy white with a light pink shade. But as we said for #lattemakeup, no need to complicate your life; you can achieve a highly tiktokable result with a beautiful pearly white or a soft baby pink on their own. The best part of this Breakfast in America makeup is its simplicity: for once, we are far from the sophisticated models of makeup artists in the metaverse.
So, enjoy your milk-inspired makeup!
