Myth inspired Perfumes, this is a very unique trend. Who hasn’t dreamed of wearing the psychedelic white jumpsuit donned by Zeus—played by Jeff Goldblum—in the opening of the first episode of Netflix’s Kaos? Arrogant, impatient, egocentric… In short, irresistible. The king of Olympus, reigning from his Hollywood villa, has now become a social media star, together with his son Dionysus, the dissipated partygoer. Kaos is a punk satire of the Greek pantheon and can also be seen as an allegory of the capricious, all-powerful billionaires who play with our world. The adventures of this aristocratic family of spoiled and moody gods have sparked a renewed interest in mythology. What if, in this contemporary and disenchanted retelling, the gods became the new superheroes for younger generations? After all, in school, we all studied them with some curiosity, eager to learn all the gossip about their adventures and revenge plots.

Myth-Inspired Perfumes: thank you, Jeff Goldblum!
Greek Myths Meet Modern Scents
In any case, Kaos Netflix has sent a clear signal to fashion and perfume brands. It-girls are now sporting peplos and sandals but in super-pink versions, with pleats, sequins, and glitter (similar to the Alexis Mabille plissé pink dress worn by Amy Ryan at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of Wolfs). Now, everyone is also trying to replicate the scents of the gods. How do you surround yourself with the alluring olfactory aura of Aphrodite, the wild charm of Artemis, the comforting scent of Athena, or the powerful presence of Hera? Citrus, myrtle, and orange blossom are being bottled to cradle us with their Mediterranean exoticism. Distillates and essences reminiscent of Greek landscapes, evoking the blue skies over Olympus, the shimmering waters ruled by Poseidon, and the flora of the eternal white islands.
Hellenist perfumes: Ancient Heroes Back to Life

On the men’s side, there’s Versace Eros Energy, which channels the explosive energy of Kaos’ Zeus. It is inspired by the infinite light of the Mediterranean coast, offering a wave of citrus freshness with a touch of white amber for a sensation of strength and vitality.

Additionally, there are three unisex fragrances from the new perfume house Hellenist, which, as the name suggests, is inspired by the myths of these lands. “I wanted to combine art and fragrance to bring forgotten legends and heroes back to life, creating a bridge between the past and the present and a sweet sense of eternity,” explains the founder Jean-David Jacoby. There’s Le Chant d’Achille with neroli, lemon, black pepper, orange blossom, vetiver, and white musk; or A l’ombre d’Artemis, with blackcurrant, fig, oak moss, and woods; and finally, the tender Le Bras de Morphée, with iris, violet, hazelnut, on a base of vanilla and tonka bean.

Medusa, Artemis, or Zeus: Which Kaos Scent Would You Wear?
If you’re fascinated by the myth of Medusa, one of the three Gorgons, who shifts between light and shadow with snakes slithering on her crown, you’ll be captivated by Medusa by Sikelia, a perfume brand inspired by ancient Sicilian legends. This addictive scent features notes of rhubarb, violet flowers, almonds, heliotrope, and a compelling blend of light and dark that would have surely seduced Eurydice. Yes, we’re talking about Riddy, the name under which she’s reincarnated in Kaos, becoming one of the serie’s key characters. Eros, Medusa, Artemis, or Morpheus… which legendary fragrance will you choose to flaunt to stay on trend?
