Indian Jewelry Ateliers have been making waves at fashion weeks, including Paris Haute Couture Week. Supercool and elegantly designed, these necklaces, bracelets and rings have already won over the hearts of global music celebrities, who often wear them on stage. These are our Indian jewelry designers that have stolen our heart.
The Indian fashion industry draws inspiration from a distinctive fusion of cultures, innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability, reflecting its rich and diverse cultural heritage and setting it apart globally. Fashion enthusiasts across the world are now flaunting pieces by Indian designers. As an Indian fashion student, I take it upon myself to introduce you to some of these Indian Jewelery Designers with beautifully curated accessories collections.
Indian jewelry designers, please meet Misho Designs
Have you ever heard about an earring for your AirPod? It’s a detail that adds some coolness to your digital life created by Misho, a jewelry designer seen on every a-lister across the globe. Accessories by Misho have been seen on many famous celebrities, from music queens like Zendaya, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift to our favourite reality-tv stars, the Kardashian-Jenner sisters. Suhani Parekh, the designer behind Misho, is a trained sculptor, and her accessories are a fusion of art, architecture, and fashion, resulting in unique and sculptural pieces.
Why Bhavya Ramesh is one of our fave Indian jewelry designers
It’s an ode to the Banjara Culture, translating to Gypsies, and has a Bohemian Soul. Bhavya Ramesh (that comes from the designer’s name) is a conscious silverware jewelry designer brand that specialises in all sorts of eclectic accessories that are bound to capture your attention. Their collection includes various unique items, from nail caps to sitar earrings inspired by the legendary Indian instrument that even George Harrison had learned to play. All their accessories are hand-crafted, reflecting a deep-rooted connection to Banjara culture (The Gypsies).
Of all these accessories, the sunglasses are my favourite. They are super unconventional, scream Made in India, and can elevate any outfit.
Papa Don’t Preach embrace the bliss of Indian jewelry style
Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika is a contemporary Indian fashion label known for its bold and unique designs blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic. The brand is well-known for its clothing, but I am always impressed with its shoes. The shoe designs are whimsical, chic and eclectic. They strike a balance between contemporary and traditional styles, being hand-crafted with a focus on Indian craftsmanship.
Love DK and its unique poetry
As the name suggests, Love DK is another Indian jewelery brand created with love by the designer, Devanshi Khetani. Devanshi is also an Istituto Marangoni Alumna and is best known for her versatile wrap bracelets that can be converted into a layered necklace or a waist chain. The brand also offers unique everyday pieces and an array of statement pieces.
P.S. Also, I’m never without at least one piece of Love DK jewellery.
AMPM is the perfect example of how coolness is one of Indian jewelry designers value
AMPM is a brand that evokes a sense of coolness and style. Owned by Ankur and Priyanka Modi, with Priyanka serving as the creative director and designer, their bags feature a signature cording technique that makes each bag from the collection look like a work of art. The bags by AMPM are true statement pieces you and are highly coveted by fashion enthusiasts.
