Let’s admit, Taylor Swift is an icon. Did you know that she won the Grammy Award this year, breaking the record she previously shared with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon? Each of these men won Album of the Year three times, while Swift received the accolade four times, more than any other artist, etching her name into history.
In addition, she was also named Person of the Year by Time for her contribution to the Arts and also the first woman to receive this honour twice (she was part of the #metoo silence breakers in 2017). Over time, she has become not only a musical celebrity but also politically, economically and stylistically influential.
Let’s find out more about this global music phenomenon and the reasons why we are all obsessed with her. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film is on its way.

Taylor Swift is a country girl

Let’s start at the beginning: Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania. At the age of 6, she developed an early interest in country music. A few years later, she learned to play the guitar, which she now uses along with other instruments to compose her songs.
After facing a few rejections, she caught the attention of Britney Spears’ then-manager, who decided to support the young Swift in her career. In 2006, Big Machine Records released her debut single, ‘Tim McGraw’, on US country radio. Since then, her success has continued to grow, making her a renowned singer-songwriter worldwide.

Turning relationships into songs is the reason why Taylor Swift is an icon in what she does

The singer has always released songs that showcase the full range of emotions experienced in her relationships. Her voice serves as a medium to give space to her thoughts and feelings. Can you tell us which is your most popular song of 2023? ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ is the song that aims to show how hard times have transformed Taylor into a smarter, tougher and stronger person, spurring us on to become a better version of ourselves even after our darkest times.

The love for cinema before Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film

Since the first decade of the 2000s, Taylor Swift has taken part in several films and TV series. You may have missed her appearance in ‘New Girl’, but if you scroll through Netflix, you will probably come across her documentary ‘Miss Americana’, which traces Swift’s journey from country to pop and her private life, including her most challenging and satisfying moments. The film also highlights how the singer is surrounded by so many famous friends, including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Emma Stone, to name a few.

Good news for all the fans: the docufilm “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” based on her massive world tour, including dates in Italy, Milan, on July 13 and 14 2024, will soon be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+. The documentary, which celebrates her twenty-year career, premiered in cinemas last October and will debut on the streaming platform on March 15, 2024. The streaming version will be an extended cut featuring unreleased performances along with the already substantial runtime of 169 minutes. As a bonus, viewers will have access to 5 additional tracks, including ‘Cardigan’ from her 2020 album ‘Folklore.’

The sparkling queen, that’s what Taylor Swift is

Although she has chosen to keep her face and hair simple, showcasing her beautiful natural colour and highlighting her features without embellishments, she lets her clothes do the talking!

She has changed her style over the years, but she never fails to turn heads when she’s on stage, always sporting something sparkling, an aesthetic detail that she loves madly, as she says.
The Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame houses its diamond guitar, so if you’re visiting the city, you can’t miss it!

Being an icon also means seeing cities change their names with yours

Even the town of Glendale, Arizona, changed its name to ‘Swift City’ during the singer’s tour. Unbelievable, isn’t it? The change came when Swift was performing on her extraordinary The Eras Tour, celebrating 20 years of her career and being the most listened-to female artist on Spotify. The Eras Tour traces the most significant moments of her career, and perhaps the style choices reflect them.

With Oscar de la Renta and Stella McCartney, she doesn’t get one wrong!

Taylor Swift has been courted by both large and small fashion brands, all of which she has consistently considered without ever backing down or showing a preference. The crucial factor for her is that she genuinely likes the brands, that they align with her style, and that they reflect her fantastic persona.
However, there have been a few brands that have won her heart over the years, including Oscar De La Renta, who dressed her several times.

The most iconic moments were at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in 2021, where she wore a floral-themed gown, and at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022, where she dazzled in a crystal minidress that wowed the crowd.
The singer also collaborated with Stella McCartney for the ‘Stella x Taylor’ capsule launch in support of the Lover album. The capsule contains unique and sustainable pieces that go well with the McCartney A to Z Manifesto.
