If you missed the Hyper Icons Party, “big mistake, huge!” as Julia Roberts put it in Pretty Woman. The event by Istituto Marangoni Firenze was one of the hottest on the Pitti Uomo calendar and was eagerly awaited by the students from the school on Via Tornabuoni. In this article, we will share the details of how it all went down, and you might even find yourself in some of the photos we’ve included – so, keep an eye out!

Before digging into the Hyper Icons Party, what is the new I’M Firenze Digest about?

Kim Ks on the dance cubes wore all-black Balenciaga-inspired outfits while holding LED light collars with “DIGEST” written on them in capital letters. Those Space dancers entertained the audience by dancing to the DJ’s music while paying tribute to Istituto Marangoni Firenze’s editorial project.

As mentioned in the invitation, the Hyper Icons party was thrown to mark the recent launch of the school’s new journal platform, which not only has a new graphic look but also a new digital skin. The event aimed to emphasise the power of this tool in bringing people together. And what better way to do so than by throwing a great party? The members of the Editorial Board, Art Department, tutors and external journalists came together to choose the theme, which aimed to make the students enjoy the evening to the fullest.

A great setting for a great night, that’s what was our Hyper Icons Party

Have you ever thought about reading an article while hitting the dance floor on a casual Tuesday night? If this thought had never crossed your mind in the past, it certainly did during the Hyper Icons party. LED walls displaying the latest articles from the journal’s new website were scattered throughout the venue.

These reading inspirations drove the conversations of the evening while also highlighting the work of the young journalists who wrote them. The “I’M Firenze Digest” logo was prominently displayed on lateral LED screens, above the DJ and even above the dancers, illuminating the faces of those who were fortunate enough to attend the event.

The best dress-code-approved looks we loved

The best parties I’ve been to all required a dress code, making it fun to use what we already have in the wardrobe, just styling it differently for the occasion. This year’s theme was communicated to the students through an article weeks before the event. Not everyone followed the indications but joined the dancefloor with equally cool outfits.

Following the night’s theme, the club was filled with people dressed like famous and iconic characters, from Kim Kardashian in catsuits and big Céline-like sunglasses to David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust period.
Sparkles were a must for the party and were seen everywhere, from starry bags to Paco Rabanne-inspired skirts, encrusted tops, and shiny details. Reflecting the club’s disco lights was the only way to become the dancing queen of the night, and those who opted for this classic look dominated the dance floor.

The iconic all-black outfit was also a popular choice for the occasion, establishing this colour as a status symbol of the Istituto Marangoni Firenze aesthetic.
