There is the perfect playlist for every mood. This summer, we need to feel free, enjoy travelling with the ideal soundtrack and listen to the right song to charge us as we prepare to go out in our best post-punk look.
Now that our final classes are over, it’s time to say goodbye to the rooms where we and our mates used to hang out. With so many songs to choose from, we need the perfect music for this moment that mixes the summer mood and a desire to bite into the future with new adventures. As you walk out the door of Istituto Marangoni Firenze, make sure to click play to our last Summer playlist, where you will find the finest collection of fresh summer flavours.

EDGE OF THE EDGE by Panda Bear & Sonic Boom
A refined, psychedelic, pop and beach song, somewhat Beach Boys style. Panda Bear’s saturated harmonies allow the listener to find a playful planet where bikinis and cold cocktails reign. Not too bad, uh? This artistic duo is perfect for the beginning of the ultimate Summer playlist and can also be a great accompaniment to your travels.
NEW BEGINNING by Automatic
LA-based post-punk band Automatic consists of three incredible women who you will grow to idolise. Their keynotes reveal a futuristic Seventies vibe with a hint of Bauhaus. If you are in the middle of getting ready before a night out, this song is by far the best track you could ever play. To fully immerse yourself in the robotic choreography, it’s recommended to wear black eye shadows and red lipstick.
HUMANKIND by Coldplay
This song brings us closer to the sun. A golden light will invade the room and finally conquer your body. It is irresistible, and moving is the only cure for such invasion. If you want to kick off your summer on the right note, don’t hesitate to turn up for this song. The car speakers can’t handle the volume required for the 4:26 minute song by the forever-beloved Coldplay.
BIRDS by Coldplay
You’ve guessed it right! This is the second track by Coldplay. We love them so much. “Birds” is the ultimate definition of youth, the young, reckless and free children. Pay close attention to the lyrics:
“Away with me,
We don’t need words
close your eyes
And we’ll be birds
flying free”
There is nothing we desire the most than to feel free this Summer. This refrain will become our new mantra.
I’VE BEEN IN LOVE by Jungle feat. Channel Tres
This playlist is for everyone’s tastes, so if you are into rap and soul, this is your song. This song is just screaming at you to fall in love this Summer. Experience the weightless sensation and the sweet taste of human connections while sitting at warm dinner tables. Raise a glass in celebration and savour juicy summer fruits as you bask in the idyllic harmony of the sunset. By the end of the song, you’ll find yourself a little in love already.
TEMPO by NASAYA & MARO
An electro-fusion gem for fans of dance music, R&B, and indie-soul.
During the Summer, we often picture ourselves basking in the warm orange sun with the sweet smell of coconut in the air while listening to Nasaya’s sweet voice on a rooftop. We always welcome techno beats when we need to get pumped up. Still, this track is a mix of electro-fusion, dance and indie-soul that envelops and transports us into a colourful vortex where we lose our human form and become animated characters. Life suddenly feels so simple and indulgent, and we feel like we’re in paradise.
